COPY-Princeton PD make drug bust on High Street


PRINCETON, W. Va (WVVA)-- Police tell WVVA they expect to charge 31-year-old Alfonso Washington, Jr. with possession with intent to deliver marijuana sometime Tuesday evening.

Police and parole officers arrested Washington at a home on High Street in Princeton for a parole violation.

After a search, they recovered 15 grams of marijuana, smoking paraphernalia including bongs, two handguns, and $18,683 in cash in the home.

Princeton Police Chief J.W. Howell said there could also be other arrests made in the case. 

Washington was out on parole after a previous drug conviction.

PRINCETON (WVVA) - Police serving a warrant in Princeton Tuesday discovered marijuana, bongs and more at a residence on -- fittingly -- High Street.

The officers, operating off a State Police parole warrant, arrested 31-year-old Alfonso Washington Jr. Tuesday morning around 8:30 A.M. with the help of parole officers.

Washington is charged with a parole violation, but is also expected to be charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver marijuana after police found 15 grams of the drug,  along with smoking paraphernalia, two weapons and $18,683 in cash at the residence.

Washington is being held at Southern Regional Jail pending arraignment.
