BECKLEY (WVVA) -- August 2013 has been one of the coolest Augusts in awhile, from the Midwest to the Two Virginias to the Southeast.  Mid-day Sunday in Beckley, local temperatures weren't even measuring 70 degrees.

"August hasn't really been August," says Albert Hughes.  Hughes, and another local Cassie Voehringer, were both going about their Sunday errands in long blue jeans.

"I like jeans and T-shirt kind of weather, so I find it pretty cool," says Voehringer. "Hoodies... I'm just more comfortable in that kind of stuff."

But Hughes begs to differ.  "I don't want it 90-some degrees and humid, but certainly, I don't want an early fall either."

Another forecast that's been frequenting summer 2013 -- rain.  A drag for some, but a blessing to others.  "Some people have gardens," says Charlie Ford.  "My dad, he grows corn and tomatoes, and he's excited about the rain."

For those of you who still need your fix of summer, some relief is in sight.  Click on the weather tab at the top of the page to find out when our WVVA meteorologists say the temperatures will change.
