MERCER CO. (WVVA) - Dustie Beller was on trial for running over a woman with her car all for chainsaw. PRINCETON --  The Economic Development Authority of Mercer County has formally launched a project that has greatly expanded its existing online mapping resource used by businesses, government agencies and the citizens of Mercer County.

The Development Authority received a grant in 2012 from the WV Geologic and Economic Survey to, among other things, increase awareness and the use of broadband technology. The online mapping application features new data layers such as electric utility access, water utility access, wastewater utility access, and fire hydrants for the entire county.

The site also now features available industrial park parcels with several static maps that accompany each parcel and provide pertinent information to potential buyers. An extensive community profile has been added along with other custom data layers.

"We hope that business managers, government leads, and county citizenry find this extensive online resource helpful when trying to locate and view critical data and information about Mercer County", said Janet Bailey, Executive Director of the Development Authority. "We knew that communication and information exchange between public and private sector organizations would prove critical to the success of our project and we are very appreciative of all private sector businesses and government agencies that worked with us and provided data."

The Development Authority presented all project participants with a certificate of appreciation at a formal launch event Friday at the Mercer County Technical Education Center.

The online mapping resource is accessed via the Development Authority's Web site located at the following URL: http://www.mercercoeda.com/
