UPDATE:

Police say around 5:45 PM, Greenbrier County 911 dispatched Cpl. W.K. Nester and Cpl. J.W Ferguson of the Greenbrier County Sheriff's Department  to the Cold Knob area of Greenbrier County in reference to a drowning.  

The officers learned Clifford Jay Stull, age 52 of Fairmont, had been the victim of an accidental drowning at a pond known as Snag Pond.  

Friends of the victim advised that he had been swimming in the pond when they lost sight of him. They were unable to locate him and called 911. 

Several departments responded and quickly recovered the body.  

Assisting Departments were the WV DNR, Quinwood EMS and Fire, Alderson Fire and EMS,  and Williamsburg Fire and EMS.

Rupert, W. Va (WVVA) -Police have confirmed a drowning in a pond near Rupert in Greenbrier County.

The Greenbrier County Sheriff's Office is investigating, but Chief Deputy Bruce Sloan says the incident does not seem suspicious.

Police are still working on notifying the victim's family before more details can be released.
