Family: Mercer County man dies in fire

UPDATE: BRAMWELL (WVVA) - Family members at the scene tell WVVA News a man was killed in an overnight house fire in the Bramwell area.

66-year-old Bobby Lewis of Freeman died in the blaze at his home on Rogers Street, a sister said.

A state fire marshal was at the scene. A medical examiner was en route.

Multiple crews responded to the blaze, which was reported around 4:45 a.m.

Family said Lewis lived alone in the home, which was approximately 150 years old.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.


Firefighters responded to a structure fire in Bramwell on Monday.

Dispatchers said the call came in around 4:45a.m. to a building on Bowen Lane.

At this point, there is no word yet on injuries or what started the blaze.

The Bluewell Fire Dept., Montcalm Fire Dept., and Bramwell Fire Dept. responded.
