West Virginia Turnpike tolls don't live up to expectations

An increase in West Virginia Turnpike toll collections during the Boy Scouts of America's National Jamboree was not enough to reverse a downturn in year-to-date collections.

Parkways Authority General Manager Greg Barr says turnpike toll collections increased 1.5 percent in July, and  that includes a 3 percent jump during the 10-day jamboree in Fayette county.
Barr says toll collections didn't increase significantly because the thousands of boy scouts and their leaders arrived at the jamboree on buses.
