New ATV lodge in Mercer Co. could boost business

BRAMWELL, W. Va (WVVA)-- Work continues on a new ATV lodge in Mercer County that many hope will bring more tourists to the area.

A group from upstate WV has been diligently working to convert the old Bramwell High School into a lodge for ATV riders who come to visit the area and ride the trails. They will call it the Bramwell High School ATV Lodge, keeping many of the original fixtures and elements of the school alive in the rooms they offer.

Owners tell WVVA the trails are a short distance from their new lodge, and people in Bramwell hope it will bring new people, and especially new business, to the area.

"New riders coming in will hopefully... boost our business up," said Bonnie Goins, who works at the Bramwell Cafe. "We just need more riders... I hope it's growth and we'll just have more business than we can take care of..."

She says since the trails became popular near Bramwell, they have already seen a boost in their economy in town. She hopes that continues, even increases.

Several rooms are available at the lodge now, while the lodge owners are still working on the rest. To inquire about booking a room, call 304-754-5500 or 304-702-0615.
