BLUEFIELD (WVVA) – After ending last year on a rough note, losing to Robert C. Byrd in the state quarterfinals, the Bluefield Beavers enter 2013 looking for some revenge.
The Beavers return a very big core of starters. Particularly on the offensive side of the ball where quarterback DJ Edwards finds himself taking snaps for the third year.
"I'm excited, extremely excited, the whole team's excited," Edwards said of the upcoming campaign. "We just ready to get the season started."
As usual, the Beavers have the season-opening matchup against Graham circled on Aug. 30 -- a game lost last year.
But the team knows their ultimate goal requires a week-by-week effort.
"We're capable of going all the way if we put our mind to it and work every day we come out," Edwards added.
