BECKLEY -- The WV Music Hall of Fame would like to introduce you to the music of its 2013 inductees.

Everett Alan Lilly & Friends, Susanna Robinson, John Lilly, Emily Hopkins, Mark Bates, and The Carpenter Ants will gather at Tamarack to perform music associated with this year's seven inductees.

The event will be held at 7 p.m., August 17, at Tamarack's Hulett C. Smith Theater. The music will range from the harmony-rich, gospel-soul of the Swan Silvertones (performed by The Carpenter Ants), the country and rock of Wayne Moss (Mark Bates), and the traditional bluegrass of Melvin & Ray Goins (Everett Alan Lilly and John Lilly) to Bricktop's 1920s cabaret jazz (Susanna Robinson) and two of Eleanor Steber's Mozart arias (Emily Hopkins). Tickets to the event are $4.

The evening will also offer a preview of some of the biographical vignettes produced for the Hall of Fame's fifth induction ceremony. The induction ceremony will take place at 7:30 p.m., November 16, at Charleston's Culture Center Theater and will be broadcast live throughout the state by WV PBS. .

"We wanted to give people in the Beckley area a bit of ‘sneak preview' of what they will see and hear at our induction ceremony in November," said WVMHoF director Michael Lipton. "Once again, the various styles showcase the breadth of American music and the stories associated with this year's inductees are rich and compelling."

The seven inductees are: Melvin & Ray Goins, Peter Marshall, Wayne Moss, Tim O'Brien, The Swan Silvertones, Ada "Bricktop" Smith and Eleanor Steber.
