COAL MOUNTAIN (WVVA) - Sheriff's deputies in Wyoming County have recovered 55 marijuana plants valued at more than $158,000.

The plants were discovered Friday in the Coal Mountain area after an anonymous tip was received.

The plants ranged in height from 4 to 8 feet.

Sheriff Randall Aliff says the plants were healthy, which could be an indication of a major operation.

Aliff adds that arrests are pending.

Deputies estimate the value of the plants at $158,400. The plants have been destroyed.

Lt. James White is heading the investigation.
