SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. (AP) -- Nicholas County authorities say a man has pleaded guilty in the killings of two adults and two children.

Sheriff's Chief Deputy Paul O'Dell tells media outlets that James Roy Belknap pleaded guilty Wednesday in Nicholas County Circuit Court to four counts of first-degree murder.

The 27-year-old Leivasy resident was charged with fatally shooting Steven Leroy Hendrix, Amber Martin and Hendrix's two young children. The victims' bodies were found on May 26, 2012. Police said the victims had been stripped and their bodies were dumped down a mountainside.

A criminal complaint says the shootings occurred over a drug debt. Belknap was arrested two days later at a police roadblock.

Sentencing has been set for Aug. 28.
