Winners crowned at BRJGT Championship

BLUEFIELD VA. -- The Blue Ridge Junior Golf Tour concluded its season on Tuesday July 30 at Fincastle on the Mountain.  The young players found perfect golf weather to complement a golf course in perfect condition.  "This is the place where the Tour started and it is always a joy to return," said Dewayne Belcher.  "The Blue Ridge Junior Golf Tour appreciates the continued support and contribution that Fincastle on the Mountain makes to us."

16-18 Age Group  Par 70 6609 yards

Tyler Hillyer of Princeton, WV extended his lead with a score of 78 and easily won the age division with a two day total of 150.  Blake Hash of Tazewell, VA, Colin Hancock of Tazewell, VA and Andrew Simonsen of Johnson City, TN tied for 2nd with score of 160.  Hash was named Player of the Year in the age group having accumulated the most points throughout the season.  Joining Hash on the All Star team were Jared Porter of Princeton, WV, Graham Dillon of Wytheville, VA, Tyler Hillyer of Princeton, WV and Colin Hancock of Tazewell, VA.

14-15 Age Group  Par 70 6168 yards

Dylan Wooten of Sparta, NC extended his three stroke advantage by firing an 81 and winning the age group by 5 shots.  His two day total of 155 was better than the score of 160 recorded by Maxwell Dillon of Wytheville, VA.  One shot back in third place was Joseph Clark of Pearisburg, VA.  Alex Conner of Copper Hill, VA was named Player of the Year.  Joining Conner on the All Star Team were Dillon, Clark, Joel Carlos of Bluefield, WV and Steven Parker of Princeton, WV.

12-13 Age Group  Par 70 5878 yards

Carson Proffitt of Camp Creek, WV won the tournament with a two day total of 158.  Proffitt recorded shot an 80 which was the low round of the day in the age group to extend his lead and win by 4 shots over Ben Carroll of Blacksburg, VA.  Carroll had a two day total of 162 with his 82 on Tuesday.  Noah Clark of Pearisburg, VA was third with a score of 164.  Ben Carroll earned Player of the Year honors.  Joining Carroll on the All Star Team were Christopher Zhang of Blacksburg, VA, B Davis of Radford, VA, Clark and Proffitt. 

10-12 Age Group Par 35  2421 yards

Patrick Smith of Beckley, WV won the age group with a two day total of 78.  Smith added a 37 to win by a comfortable 10 stroke margin.  Noah Moler of Newport, VA finished 2nd shooting a 45 to tally a two day total of 87.  Peyton Coe of Wytheville, VA also shot 45 and finished with a two day total of 91.   Channing Blevins of Wytheville, VA earned Player of the Year honors.  Coe, Avery Alexander of Christiansburg, VA, Jason Hall of Dublin, VA and Moler joined Blevins on the All Star Team.

9 and Under Age Group  Par 35 1997 yards

Benson Blevins of Wytheville, VA shot 53 and won the age group with a two day total of 99.  Aiden Alexander of Christiansburg, VA posted a 49 and finished second with a two day total of 103.  Blevins earned Player of the Year honors.  Alexander, Braden Watkins of Bluefield, VA and Parker Hopkins joined Blevins on the All Star Team.
