International Scouts say goodbye to the United States

MOUNT HOPE (WVVA) -- Some scouts have a long trip home than others.  Even though this was the National Boy Scout, International scouts had the opportunity to attend.

Twenty-four countries were represented at the Summit Bechtel Reserve over the past week.

Everywhere from Egypt, South Korea and Scotland, just to name a few.

WVVA bumped into one group from Costa Rica.  They say they loved the high adventure and meeting new people, but had one qualm with West Virginia.

"I think it's a very beautiful place.  Kind of hot, hot weather, but we enjoy [it] a lot.  Trees, forests, everything just like Costa Rica, but kind of hot," says Estefania Astorga, an International Scout from Costa Rica.

This international presence is paving the way for the World Jamboree, once again in our own backyard, during 2019.
