Area celebrates National Hotdog Day

Princeton, W. Va (WVVA)-- Tuesday marks a holiday some of us may really eat up.

It's national hot dog day.

The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council says people in the US spent more than $1.7 billion dollars on franks last year.

Every year Americans eat an average of 60 hot dogs each.

We went to Berkshire's in Princeton to find out the most unique hot dogs customers have requested.

Miranda Wimmer, who works at Berkshire's said, "We've had some where people ask for ketchup, mustard, mayo. Potato chips crumbled in the bottom. Several people just want weenies, they don't want a bun. Pretty much anything you can think of, we've done."

She said she even serves up peanut butter hot dogs...

Workers at Berkshire's say their most requested toppings are mustard, onion, and chili.
