Scouts devote hours to area schools

BECKLEY (WVVA) - While in the region, Boy Scouts have spent countless hours at dozens of schools in the area.

A troop from New Jersey spent Monday sprucing up Woodrow Wilson High School.

The scouts trimmed shrubbery, planted new flower beds, and even fixed some erosion problems.

The staff at the school say they're very grateful for the scouts' hard work.

"It's pretty cool giving back to other schools," said scout Owen Giannangeli. "I see this stuff all around my school all the time and I try to get involved with it as much as I can."

Last week scouts worked at five schools in Mercer County alone.
