Rays get 9-3 win over Mets

Posted:

PRINCETON (WVVA) - It has not been a fun start to the season for the Princeton Rays.

Winners of only six games thus far, the team looked to turn things around against Kingsport in a rare, pre-noon game Monday.

It would be the Mets who struck first. Victor Cruzado with the grounder to second, the Rays can't turn the double play and it's 1-0 Mets.

But the Rays would get that run back on a pitch that goes to the backstop and we are all knotted up at 1.

Then Travis Flores would start the fireworks. His home run clears the left field wall as Princeton goes on to grab their first win in a week, 9-3.

Could the Rays' win be attributed to their special guest bat girl for the day? Probably not, but you should still check out the story on Jaime Baker's experience on the field for the Rays.
