BLUEFIELD, W. Va (WVVA)-- Some out-of-state volunteers are showing a Mercer County Family some love this week.

A mission team from Charlotte, North Carolina is fixing up the kitchen in their home on Frederick Street.

It's a project through the Wade Center.

The group is rebuilding cabinets, cleaning, even installing new plumbing so the sink can run.
It's hard work, but that's what they say it's the kind of job the family really needed done.

"Step 1 is having a kitchen that works, and they can cook their own meals," said team leader Mike Khoe.

The mission team rolls out of town this weekend.

The next group to come in will be working on the family's bathroom, making it easier for one of the disabled family members to use.
