Plans for $5 million Greenbrier Co. project move forward

LEWISBURG, W. Va (WVVA)-- Plans for a movie theater in Greenbrier County are moving forward.

The lot is behind the Lowe's in Lewisburg.

Tuesday night, the Lewisburg City Council approved its excavation permit, but the owners still have some more meetings with the city before they can break ground on the $5 million project.

Wes Sheridan, co-owner of the planned theater said if all goes well they plan to open in May 2014.

"It's been a long process to get the project even started," he said. "If not for the public support, this wouldn't work."

The theater will include 8 state-of-the-art screening rooms and is expected to add 25 new jobs to the area.
