Boy Scouts arrive at Summit Bechtel Reserve for National Jamboree

GLEN JEAN (WVVA) -- West Virginia is a little more populated Monday.  The long-awaited Boy Scout Jamboree is finally here.

Scouts started arriving by the bus load at 6 a.m., through the early evening.  Organizers estimated the 40,000 scouts filled up 760 buses.

The scouts are looking forward to a hard earned 10 days in the Wild and Wonderful.

"They always come back different [from the Jamboree]," says Gary Jordan, a scout master from North Carolina.  "They always come back a little more mature.  They broaden their horizons.  They're better prepared to tackle the world, and they just get so excited about the opportunities that they see out there.  They get to meet people from all over the world."

Stay tuned to WVVA for the latest team coverage on the National Jamboree.
