MERCER CO. (WVVA) - Dustie Beller was on trial for running over a woman with her car all for chainsaw. The victim had this to say about the verdict. "Um very happy,” Mackenzie Ansley said. “To be expected -- the attempted murder charge. I knew coming into it, it was an iffy charge. Hinton, WV (WVVA)  "The total wow factor. When they step into the properties, they just can't imagine that this is hidden, and tucked away and that not everyone knows about it," says Stephanie Stiffler.

Something unexpected lies in the heart of Hinton's Historic Railroad Community.  Established in 1898, the Guest House takes visitors back in time.  Visitor at the Guest House Fred Webb said, "I was literally blown away when we came in, and I said oh my goodness we have just got to stay here, this is an incredible place!"

The Guest House is designed to be a home away from home. Offering guests all of the modern amenities, while still maintaining historic elements.  Restored in 2007, eight rooms make up the Guest House, each meticulously designed to reflect the areas culture and filled with furniture from local antique shops.  "We go and we try to pull those pieces in and couple them with the modern pieces so that way our guests have the feeling of the old but they also have the modernization to give them the luxury feel that they have when they stay."

For Fred Webb, staying at the Guest House, gives new life to old memories.  "We said as soon as this opens we want to come back here, because my mother who was the piano teacher used to come here and visit Mrs. Timberlake who was the owner of the house, and sleep in the same room that we have been sleeping in for the last day, and occasionally when we've come back to visit in the past."

Black and white photos don the walls, giving life to Hinton's History.  "My grandmother used to come and stay here before it was the guest house. So we enjoy all of the historical connections."

A unique combination of the present and the past, the Guest House offers visitors a place to feel at home.
