Princeton Rays Take A Swing At Hunger

PRINCETON (WVVA) – The Princeton Rays stepped up to the plate to raise awareness on hunger Thursday by sponsoring food drives at local Grant's Supermarkets.

"The management team at Grant's has been great to work with, and has embraced this concept wholeheartedly," commented Jim Holland, Rays General Manager.

All donations will go to the Tender Mercies Food Pantry.

This is the second year the Rays and Grants have partnered on this event.

Last season, it was deemed as the largest single canned food donation campaign that assisted Tender Mercies in 2012.

Holland says the team hopes this year's event will be even greater, "This was such a meaningful event to our players last year, and several of them went into the store to buy some canned goods themselves to add to the large collection of cans they had already collected."

The Rays will be at Princeton Grant's stores located on Main Street and Crossroads on Friday from ten till noon.
