Approval of New CNA Program

MERCER (WVVA) – Valley College, Princeton Campus receives approval for a Nursing Assistant Program on Wednesday.

"We are pleased to help an ever increasing segment of students in our communities to obtain life-changing career training" stated Beth Gardner, Corporate Director of Academic and Student Affairs. "Valley College has a heritage of high graduation and placement rates, not only because of the quality of our training but because we choose to offer programs in high demand occupations. Our students therefore have the highest probability of employment after graduation."

Delivering short-term training programs in high demand fields is something that Valley College says they strive to achieve.

This new program will provide more CNA's in the workforce.

However, as state officials are working on West Virginia's plan for expanding Medicaid under the federal health care reform law, it is still unclear how physicians are going to handle the increase in request from new patients who will be covered by Medicaid under the expansion.
