GHENT (WVVA) - A toll booth on Interstate 77 was damaged Tuesday after it was struck by a military vehicle passing through.

The incident occurred at 12:42 p.m. when the shovel portion of an endloader being hauled by the vehicle knocked one of the toll booths off its foundation, according to the WV Parkways Authority.

A toll worker near the booth at the time of the accident was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

No one was inside the damaged toll booth and no other injuries were reported.

Traffic was not disrupted as the other toll plazas were able to remain open.

The booth has been restored to its platform and is expected to be re-opened within 24 hours.
