BLUEFIELD (WVVA) – The Bluefield Blue Jays -- sitting atop their division -- looked to get some leverage with evening with Tazewell's Zak Wasilewski on the mound and Johnson City in town Monday.
First inning and the Cardinals get to Zak early, Kenneth Walls with the hit to right field, the outfielder misplays the ball and the run makes it 1-0 Cardinals.
Wassy calms down from there, gets Ronnie Garcia swinging, then manages to fool another batter for his second strikeout.
The Blue Jays had some cold bats to start. But they broke through in the bottom of the fourth when Dawel Lugo smacked a ball off the wall in right center to tie the game at 1-1. In the end, though, Johnson City would score four unanswered runs for a 5-1 win.
