PRINCETON (WVVA) - Division of Highways officials tell WVVA News the area of Brick/Rogers streets affected by an accident Monday in which an excavator being hauled by a flatbed truck slammed into a railroad bridge has been reopened.


PRINCETON (WVVA) - A portion of roadway in Princeton is expected to be closed for days after a truck hauling an excavator became lodged under a railroad trestle.

The accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. Monday in the Brick/Rogers street area in Princeton. The stretch of roadway between the South Second Street and South Wickham Avenue intersections is closed indefinitely.

Mercer County 911 says the impact has shifted the railroad bridge that runs above the street.

No injuries were reported in the incident.


Mercer County 911 is advising motorists to avoid the Brick Street/Rogers Street area of Princeton if possible following an accident in which an excavator struck a railroad overpass.

The area is expected to be closed to traffic for hours as crews inspect the bridge for damage.

No injuries were reported in the mishap.

Motorists should expect delays in the area.
