Bluefield (WVVA) -- A very small, isolated thunderstorm brought intense rainfall to the Beckley area Monday night. This slow-moving storm dumped upwards of 2-3 inches in just an hour to MacArthur, Daniels, Mabscott, Sprague areas causing localized flash flooding.
The 911 call center in the Beckley area reported several flooded streets in these towns along with some basement flooding in residential homes.
One ham radio operator reported high water around Sprague on Robert C Drive and people rescued from a car stuck in high water.
The WVVA Precision weather team is calling for another round of slow-moving showers and thunderstorms for Tuesday. Localized heavy downpours are possible, which again may lead to flash flooding.
