West Virginia lottery revenues surpass $1 billion

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- West Virginia lottery revenues have surpassed $1 billion for the 11th straight year.

But state Lottery deputy director Dean Patrick says year-to-date revenues are down about $90 million from the same time last year.

The Charleston Gazette reports lottery revenues through the first 11 months of the fiscal year were $1.22 billion.

For May alone, lottery revenues of $118 million were down $9 million from the same month of 2012.
