Educators from across W.Va. attend local conference

DANIELS (WVVA) -- School may be out for summer, but West Virginia school officials are continuing their education on the new legislation that passed during this year's regular session.

Superintendents and elected board members attended a weekend conference at Glade Springs Resort to discuss the new policies for the upcoming school year.

For example, Senate bill 359 made reforms to public education. Under the bill, school boards are obligated to provide an instructional term for students of at least 180 separate days of actual classroom time.

More than 100 educators were in attendance.
