Westside High students hold WALK-A-THON for classmate

CLEAR FORK, WV (WVVA) -- Students and teachers at Westside High School in Wyoming County are holding a community event to support a student.

16 year old RJ Walls, a student at Westside, suffers from cerebral palsy, a crippling condition that prevents proper physical development.

The WALK-A-THON, gospel concert, car and motorcycle show, and yard sale will kick off at 8am tomorrow to help raise money for an experimental stem cell treatment that is not covered by the Walls' insurance.

The event will run from 8am until 4pm.

The family is grateful for their family, friends, and school support. "We love you all," Donna Walls says.

If you would like to donate, a fund has been set up in RJ's name.
