Fayette County man busted on drug charges

MONTGOMERY (NEWS RELEASE) - A Fayette County man has been arrested on drug charges. Sheriff Steve Kessler released the following information concerning this arrest:

During the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 05, 2013, officers from the Central West Virginia Drug Task Force, assisted by the Special Response Team of the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, executed a search warrant at a residence in Montgomery, WV. This search warrant was issued after members of the drug task force used an informant to purchase drugs out of this residence the previous day.

During the execution of this search warrant officers seized a small quantity of marijuana, seventeen baggies of cocaine, digital scales and more than $6,000.00 in U.S. Currency, as well as a .38 revolver. Michael King, Jr., age 26, of Montgomery was arrested and charged with the felony offense of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. He was arraigned in the Magistrate Court of Fayette County and was remanded to the Southern Regional Jail in lieu of a $10,000.00 bond.

"Slowly, but surely, we are making progress in identifying and arresting those individuals who are selling illicit drugs in our communities," said Sheriff Kessler. "Officers from the Drug Task Force have been conducting investigations throughout all areas of the county. If you have information about someone selling drugs in your community, please let us know."

This case remains under investigation by the Central West Virginia Drug Task Force.
