UPDATE: Fire forces two Bluefield families to evacuate


BLUEFIELD (WVVA) - Two families were forced out of their home in the early morning hours Thursday after a house caught fire.

The blaze started around 2 a.m. at a home on Lynn Street in Bluefield. Due to the close proximity, firefighters had to remove the family living in the house next door.

One house was a total loss, but the second home suffered only minor damages.

No injuries were reported. 


Firefighters were called the scene of a structure fire in Mercer County early Thursday morning.

It happened on Lynn Street in Bluefield after 2a.m.

No word yet on what started the blaze.

Dispatchers say no injuries were reported.

The Bluefield City Fire Dept. responded.
