First phase in downtown development project, complete

FAYETTEVILLE (WVVA) -- Local developers have been working since 2012 to restore the 19th century Ankrom-Dickerson House as part of the ongoing Henry Street Project.

This past weekend the downstairs business Musical Grounds, a European style coffeehouse, opened to the public.

One of the owners, Joe Dangerfield, says he wanted to use the business as a way to combine his love for classical music with careful coffee brewing techniques.

"What I suggest [to customers] is either the French press or the pour over station with one of our single origin coffees," says Dangerfield.  What I usually do, if it's a person who's never had a pour over, I'll invite them back and I'll take them through the whole process. I'll show them. They'll smell it, and when they see it happen, I mean it's pretty incredible. They [say], oh my god, I didn't know coffee could smell like this and taste like this."
