BLUEFIELD, WV (WVVA) -- The Bluefield, WV Fire Department is extending the deadline for Firefighter applications. 

BFD is conducting entry level tests for probationary firefighters.

A qualified applicant must:

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 35
  • Be in Good Physical Condition
  • Have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Have a valid West Virginia Drivers License and
  • Be a resident of Mercer County

Applications will be accepted, in person, at the Bluefield City Clerk's Office at 200 Rogers Street. The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, June 7, at 4:30 p.m.
