During the late afternoon hours of Saturday, June 1, 2013 notification was received through the Fayette County 911 Center of a single-vehicle accident on Count Route 2 just past Bell Creek Road in the Dixie area of Fayette County. Upon arrival at the scene it was determined that this vehicle had apparently hit a dirt bank, then overturned and landed in the middle of the road. Personnel from the Gauley Bridge and Gauley River Fire Departments as well as Jan Care Ambulance Service and the Fayette County Sheriff's Office all responded to the scene.

The driver of this vehicle was extricated from the vehicle by Fire Department personnel at the scene, then transported to Charleston Area Medical Center by Health Net Air Ambulance Service. The abuse of drugs or alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this collision at this time.
