Weather Channel vehicle tossed by tornado

OKLAHOMA CITY (WVVA) - A storm chasing crew from the Weather Channel suffered minor injuries after their vehicle was damaged while covering Friday evening's tornado outbreak in the Oklahoma City area.

The Weather Channel reported that meteorologist Mike Bettes and crew were OK after their vehicle was tossed approximately 200 yards off of Highway 81 near El Reno, Okla.

Storm chaser Sean Schofer with TVNWeather, posted the photo at left of the damaged 'Tornado Hunt 2013' vehicle to his Twitter feed.

Schofer said that his crew helped pull the Weather Channel team from their damaged vehicle. Schofer also noted the vehicle used by his storm chasing team also suffered damage, losing its hood.
