PRINCETON (WVVA) - Crews are still working to locate the source of a spill that was reported in a Mercer County stream Thursday evening.

Chief David Thompson with the Green Valley-Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department tells WVVA News that officials have yet to determine the source of the spill -- which Thompson said appears to be diesel fuel.

Thompson said the spill has been contained and that booms have been placed in two locations in the creek, which runs between Green Valley and Princeton, to collect any excess spillage.

First responders were called to the scene of an oil spill in Mercer County Thursday night.

Dispatchers say the call came in around 8:30p.m., when oil was discovered in a creek running between Princeton and Green Valley .

Green Valley Fire Dept. and Princeton Fire Dept. responded.

No word yet on what caused the spill, or where the oil came from.
