Extreme shopping leads to emotional damage

NBC News (WVVA)--For many of us, hitting the mall is our favorite pastime.  But it can cause challenging issues especially if you're an extreme shopper.

A new survey from couponcabin.com reveals that one in ten adults consider themselves shopaholics and 15 percent say they're in debt because of their shopping habits.

The study also shows that running up debt can be emotionally detrimental.  Seven percent of consumers say shopping has had an impact on relationships with family and friends.

Analysts say to take time to pause before your next purchase and seek out ways to save on items you really need.
