The faces of veterans, recalling those who have fallen

Posted:

BECKLEY (WVVA) -- On Memorial Day, we honor those who have lost their lives for our country, but for veterans it's personal.

At the VA Hospital in Beckley, they deal with Veterans everyday.  Many even serve on staff.

They say working there is a way to continually give back to others who have risked their lives and to honor the ones that have gone before them.

For veteran patients, Memorial Day has a special meaning.  "Memorial Day means to me to honor everyone who lost their lives in the battle, and those who are still fighting in the combat zone and the veterans too," says Everett Cucumber, a Korean War veteran.
