UPDATE: Cole Chevy Mountain Festival underway

BLUEFIELD (WVVA) - The annual Cole Chevy Mountain Festival is underway at Bluefield City Park.

The festival takes place May 21-27 -- the centerpiece of which is the James H. Drew Carnival, which runs through Sunday.

On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, carnival-goers can enjoy unlimited rides for $18. On Saturday, free rides will be offered from 10-11 a.m., with a "2 for 1" special offered from 11 a.m. -2 p.m.

On Sunday, free rides will be offered from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., with unlimited rides offered for $18 from noon to 10 p.m.

Other attractions include the Eudora Farms Petting Zoo will be on hand with several furry friends including monkeys, giraffes, panthers and goats.

The Marvelous Mutts will perform their dock diving routine on Friday at 5, 7 and 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 3:30, 6 and 8 p.m.

 The Shakers will perform at the Bluefield Auditorium for Beach Party Night on Friday. Doors open at 7 p.m.

The Miss Cole Chevy Mountain Festival kicked things off Tuesday evening. WVVA's own Brittany Williams hosted the event while contestants answered questions and showed off their elegant gowns.

This year's winner was Torri Bradshaw. Laci Nicole Sweeney was the runner up.
