Winning Mega Millions ticket in Va. worth $99M

FARMVILLE Va. (NEWS RELEASE) -- National sales figures for Friday's Mega Millions drawing have now been totaled, and the result is more good news for someone who bought a ticket in Farmville, Virginia. The jackpot amount actually came to $198 million, not the $190 million estimated before the drawing. That means each of the two jackpot-winning tickets is worth $99 million. Those two tickets, which were bought in Virginia and New Jersey, will split the estimated $198 million jackpot ($99 million each).

The Virginia ticket was bought at Food Lion, 1592 South Main Street, Farmville. As of Monday afternoon, the ticket is unclaimed.

The Virginia winner has 180 days from the drawing to claim the prize. That person or persons will have a choice: Either take the full $99 million in 26 annual payments or a one-time cash option of approximately $73.3 million before taxes.
