GRUNDY (WVVA) - Officials in Buchanan County tell WVVA News that waters have begun to recede hours after heavy rains caused mudslides and forced several residents from their homes.

Rising water affected at least two homes in the Lynn Camp area, where residents had to be evacuated Monday morning.

By Monday afternoon, officials reported some mudslides but no major damage. Roads that had been affected were being reopened.

No injuries were reported.

----

GRUNDY (WVVA) - Buchanan County 911 says evacuations are underway in the Lynn Camp area of the county due to rising waters.

Dispatchers say high water and flooding has been reported across the county. Specifically mentioned were the Jacks Creek, Big Rock and Rock Creek areas.

Slow-moving showers and storms dumped a radar-estimated 2-3 inches of rain on parts of the county Monday morning, according to Brian Walder of the WVVA Precision Weather Team.
