ADHD diagnosis linked to obesity

WVVA (NBC News)--Men who were diagnosed with ADHD as children are two times more likely to be obese as adults, according to a study in the Journal Pediatrics.

Researchers say some of the symptoms of ADHD could lad to poor eating choices, like a lack of impulse control and poor planning skills.  An inability to stick to a scheduled eating pattern could also be a cause of obesity.

They are advising pediatricians to monitor boys with ADHD for obesity.
