Airline cracks down on carry-ons

WVVA (NBC News)--American Airlines cracks down on carry-ons.

In an effort to speed-up boarding and ease the battle over over-head bin space, American Airlines changed its boarding procedure Thursday. The airline now allows passengers with small bags that fit under the seat in front of them to board right after first class and preferred fliers.

Those with roller luggage and multiple items will have to wait until their boarding zone is called. American said that the change will speed up the boarding process and allow flights to take off sooner, helping the airline improve its on-time performance.
