    MERCER CO. (WVVA) - Dustie Beller was on trial for running over a woman with her car all for chainsaw. While she was found not guilty of attempted murder, the jury did find her guilty of petty larceny, conspiracy, failure to stop and render aid, and malicious wounding. UPDATE: BECKLEY (WVVA) - Last Friday's Chair-ity Auction raised more than $16,000 for the Women's Resource Center.

A total of $16,060 was raised in bids for the 38 artist-decorated Adirondack chairs alone -- a new record for the auction.

WVVA's entry, painted with a coal mining theme by the Bluefield College Art Club, sold for $600.

The evening's highest-selling chair depicted Marilyn Monroe. Sponsored by Aspen Landscaping and painted by artist Cheryl Shanks, Marilyn sold for a whopping $3,000.

BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA)- A charity event in Beckley is working to raise money for the Women's Resource Center.

The Chair-ity Auction will take place in Lewis Automotive Showroom in Beckley on Friday. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner and entertainment beginning at 6.

An auction will begin at 7 p.m. for 38 one-of-a-kind functional chairs. These chairs have been purchased by area businesses and painted by local artists.

This will be the second year that WVVA has sponsored a chair in this event. This year's chair has a coal mining theme and was painted by the Art Club at Bluefield College.

It is only $20 a person which includes a buffet, beverage, entertainment, and an auction paddle.
