ATHENS, W.Va. A classroom in Concord University's Science Building is being renamed in memory of a professor who taught there.

Science 105 will be renamed as a tribute to Professor of Mathematics Emerita Mary Edna Beckett for her commitment to the University and the Mathematics and Computer Science Department for more than 45 years.

A dedication ceremony will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. on the first floor of the Science Building. A reception will follow the ceremony.

The Mathematics and Computer Science Department is in the process of purchasing a cabinet to place in the hallway with memorabilia from Miss Beckett's years of service at Concord.  Donations would be appreciated and may be sent to the Concord University Foundation, Inc., P O Box 1405, Athens, WV  24712.
