Making the most of your workout

WVVA News (NBC News)--Mere minutes of torturous exercise may be as effective as several hours of running or biking, and doctors say they have the scientific evidence to back it up.

The American College of Sports Medicine has published a list of 12 exercises that mimic the exercise impact of a long run and trip to the gym.

The exercises, which include squats and planking, are done at high intensity with short, 10-second breaks.
