BRENTON (WVVA) - An apparent argument over a cellphone landed one Wyoming County woman behind bars and another in the hospital with stab wounds.

27-year-old Misty Stanley -- aka Misty Barefoot -- of Brenton was charged with malicious wounding after stabbing 30-year-old Tonya Morgan -- also of Brenton -- around 5 p.m. Thursday.

Sheriff Randall Aliff tells WVVA News that the stabbing stemmed from an apparent argument over a cell phone.

Morgan was transported to Raleigh General Hospital with at least two stab wounds. Her condition is unknown at this time.

Stanley is being held at Southern Regional Jail.

A fight ends with one woman being stabbed in Wyoming County on Thursday.

Dispatchers said it happened in Brenton around 5p.m.

According to sheriff's deputies, one woman was transported to Raleigh General Hospital and another woman is in custody.

No names are being released at this time, pending notification of families.

The suspect is being held in Southern Regional Jail.

Presently, the Wyoming County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
