    MERCER CO. (WVVA) - Dustie Beller was on trial for running over a woman with her car all for chainsaw. While she was found not guilty of attempted murder, the jury did find her guilty of petty larceny, conspiracy, failure to stop and render aid, and malicious wounding. BLUEFIELD, Va.-Bluefield College Youth Theatre will present the Disney classic "Aladdin," Thursday through Sunday, May 23-26.
 
Based on the popular Disney movie of the same name, the BC "Aladdin" performances will run at 7:30 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, May 23-25, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 26. All shows will take place inside BC's Harman Chapel Auditorium. Admission for each performance will be $10 for adults and $5 for non-BC students and senior citizens.
 
With music by Allen Menken, lyrics by Tim Rice and Howard Ashman, and a script by Jim Luigs, Disney's "Aladdin" tells the story of a commoner named Aladdin and his mischievous monkey, Abu, who battle to save the free-spirited Princess Jasmine. Aladdin's whole life changes with one rub of a magic lamp as a fun-loving, shape-shifting Genie appears and grants him three wishes, setting him on anincredible journey of discovery. Through his adventures, Aladdin proves that he is a prince where it truly matters most -- on the inside.
 
The BC Youth Theatre cast for "Aladdin" is made up of 30 children and youth from local communities, including John Hicks, who plays Aladdin, Youth Theatre regularJacob Stowers, who plays the Genie, and Bryanna Blume, who plays Princess Jasmine.
 
Other cast members include Noah Jennings as the Sultan; Nick King as the Sultan's evil Vizier Jafar; Alexandra Stout as Jafar's parrot, Iago; Andrew Brown as Razoul, Jafar's henchman; and Laurel Romano as the dancing Magic Carpet.
 
The Youth Theatre ensemble also includes Mallory Brown, Brian Fisher, Claire Fisher, Josiah Hicks, Mary Jones, Emma Miller, Makayla Murphy, Malik Murphy, Joquise Riggins, Dexter Simon, Riley Stallings, Libby Stevens, Aiden Stout, Elias Stout, Ethan Stout, Caitri Sylvain, Ella Webb, Rockford Williams, Ronizane Williams, Christian Yates, and Katherine Yates.
 
The Bluefield College version of "Aladdin" is directed by BC theatre faculty members Charles M. Reese and Rebecca McCoy-Reese. Music direction and costume design is by Mindy Blume, a graduate of the BC music and theatre programs. Current BC theatre senior Bobby Hall is providing the choreography, while theatre alumna Jennifer Bohannan and current theatre student Summer Wilding are offering stage management.
