UPDATE: VIRGINIA BEACH (WVVA) - The Fayette County Sheriff's Department tells WVVA News that Jessica Miller has been apprehended in the Virginia Beach area and the child has been safely recovered.

Police say Miller is expected to face a child concealment charge once she's extradited back to West Virginia.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office is seeking assistance from the public in locating a child who was reportedly abducted from her custodial parent. Sheriff Steve Kessler released the following information concerning this investigation:

On Tuesday, May 7, 2013 the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a complaint from an individual in the Sunday Road area of Fayette County who reported that his 4 year-old daughter, whom he has full custody of, had been taken by the child's Mother. This child was last seen in the Oak Hill area of Fayette County on Sunday, May 5, 2013. Following the preliminary investigation into this reported incident a felony charge of Concealment or Removal of a Minor Child in Violation of a Court Order was filed earlier this morning in the Magistrate Court of Fayette County against the Mother of this child.

The Mother of this child has been identified as Jessica Lynn Miller, age 25, of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is described as a white female, approximately 4 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds. She has brown eyes and long blonde hair. She has a tattoo of a butterfly on the small of her back, a tattoo of the letters "MOE" on the lower right side of her abdomen and two surgical scars on her abdomen. She is believed to be traveling to either the Virginia Beach area or possibly to the Colorado Springs area with the child. The child is described as a white female, 4 years old, approximately 3 feet, 4 inches tall and weighing approximately 35 pounds. She has long blonde hair and blue eyes.

"The information that we have received indicates that the Mother of this child may be associating with drug abusers and this child may be in danger if she is not quickly located and returned to the lawful custody of her Father," said Sheriff Kessler. "We are asking for the public's help in locating this child as quickly as possible."

This incident remains under investigation by the Detective Bureau of the Fayette County Sheriff's Office. Anyone having any information concerning the location of this fugitive or of the missing child is asked to contact the Fayette County 911 Center at (304) 574-1610 or Crime Stoppers at (304) 255-7867 or you may submit a tip thru either the Crime Tips section of the Sheriff's Office website, http://fayettesheriffwv.net/ or thru our Department Facebook page, "Fayette County Sheriff's Department.
