4 arrested in Rupert meth lab bust

RUPERT (WVVA) - Four people have been arrested following a meth lab bust in Greenbrier County.

Sheriff's Deputy D.J. Hinkley received a tip about a possible lab. Deputies along with State Police, the West Virginia DNR, and emergency services busted the lab at a residence on Front Street in Rupert Sunday evening.

Chief Deputy Sloan at the Greenbrier County Sheriff's Office said the officers observed components consistant with a working meth lab in the home, as well as on the surrounding property that belongs to West Virginia Wildlife Management. Meth cooking sites were also found on the property.

Owen Adkins of Quinwood, Joseph M. Thomas of Rupert, Stephanie Thomas of Rupert and Sarah Bennett, 23, of Maxwelton were all charged with one count each of operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug lab.

"We are hoping to irradicate all the meth labs we can," said Sloan.
